The Burbank Chorale 90th Anniversary Documentary!

This is the 90th year of the Chorale, which began singing in 1920. According to our information, the Chorale is the longest-running (we prefer that to "oldest") community choral group in California. It has an interesting and distinguished history, and tenor Mike O'Donoghue has captured that history in a terrific documentary presentation entitled "Crescendo! 90 Years of Choral Music in Burbank, CA" .

The presentation features a marvelous collection of photographs and interesting narration and is well worth a look. The Chorale is grateful to Mike for putting in a lot of hard work to create this valuable historical document (and to others who pitched in and helped him.)

Spring Concerts in the Works!

The Chorale is busily preparing for two Spring events. On Sunday, April 11, at 2:00 PM we join our friends at the New Valley Symphony for a performance of Beethoven's Choral Fantasy. That's part of the NVS's Spring performance. It will take place at the Hall of Liberty in Burbank and admission is free. Our own Spring Concert will take place on Saturday, May 1, at 7:30 PM. Our featured work is John Rutter's Mass of the Children, and our usual singing partner, the Colburn Children's Choir, will, of course, play the part of the children! The concert will take place at the First United Methodist Church, 700 North Glenoaks Boulevard, Burbank. Come join us!
